The British Government has informed this Thursday that it has so far facilitated the opening of bank accounts in the United Kingdom about 70,000 refugees ukrainiansin conjunction with the nine main banks in the country.
Thanks to this collaboration, these people, who may not have the appropriate identification or credit history, have been able to access a basic account (without commissions or the possibility of overdrafts), the Ministry of Economy has indicated in a statement.
The ministry recalls that the United Kingdom has granted more than 215,000 visas to refugees since the start of the war in Ukraine a year ago, within the framework of its reception programs.

The economic secretary of the Treasury, Andrew Griffith, affirms in the note that the Conservative government will continue “by helping as many Ukrainian refugees as possible to access the banking services they need to build a life here.”
“One year after the invasion, (Russian President Vladimir) Putin You should have no doubt that the West will not give up supporting Ukraine and its people.” added.
The United Kingdom has allocated 4.6 billion pounds (5.225 million euros) in military support to Kiev until the end of 2023, with the supply of 10,000 anti-tank missiles, almost 200 armored vehicles and some 100,000 artillery shells, among other things.

It has also sanctioned more than 1,200 people and 120 entities linked to the Kremlin and Putin, who has also been penalized.
