Covid vaccine reduces the possibility of a heart attack

The CEO of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, stressed that both the vaccination against Covid-19, as well as the booster doses applied, they reduce the possibility that patients infected with Covid will suffer a heart attack or a cardiovascular accident.

“This new research adds to the weight of evidence on the benefits of vaccination and boosting,” Tedros said, referring to findings presented by researchers at the Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine (USA).

In addition, it ensures that it is essential that governments maintain and strengthen surveillance so that vaccines, treatments and diagnostics can be tested and updated as needed.

“I emphasize these results because they underscore once again why governments must continue to vaccinate and reinforce to their populations, especially the groups most at risk, including the elderly and healthcare workers,” Tedros reiterated.

“Although the world is in a much better position than it was three years ago, We must not underestimate the risks of the coronavirus and it is therefore important to invest in their study to develop vaccines that offer greater protection and reduce transmission,” said the director of the OMSwho added that “the world is not ready for the next pandemic”.

“Last Friday, at the Munich Security Conference (Germany), I said that, at this time, the world is still not prepared for another pandemic. Although leaders have many other crises to deal with, attention to future epidemic and pandemic threats must remain, or we will pay a heavy price,” Tedros Adhanom said.

At the moment 13.3 billion doses of vaccines have been administered worldwide for Covid-19, with which approximately 70% of humanity has received at least one dose.
