Zelensky: There is no peace without Crimea

Only the de-occupation of Crimea will help to establish peace in Ukraine and Europe.

This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with the BBC.

According to the president, until Ukraine regains Crimea, there will be no peace on the whole planet.

“I believe there won’t be. There won’t be a normal peace for Ukraine, for Ukrainians, for Europe, for the whole planet,” Zelensky told a journalist.

He also said that in order to end the war, the sovereignty and territorial integrity of each country must be upheld on a global scale.

“This means: if we really want to stop the war, we have to find a solution at the global level… we need to support all thisthe sovereignty and territorial integrity of each country.

He fears a wider Russian response to attempts to take him over

So, please, you (the Russians – note ed.) must return to your territory, de-occupy our territory, all the territory that has been recognized by the world, including Russia, since 1991,” he recalled Zelensky.

One year after launching a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin still hopes to occupy Kiev.

“I think the president Putin still wants to occupy Kyiv. But their ideas, mission and hope affect all of Ukraine.

For losing our independence and sovereignty.

And that’s why I think everyone understood: if you can’t occupy the capital, if you can’t occupy Kiev, you can’t occupy Ukraine,” Zelensky said when asked if Kiev was still under threat.

In Washington, this opinion is gaining ground

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is not ready to attack Ukraine from the territory of Belarus. Because the Russian troops are no longer as strong as they were a year ago.

“I don’t think he’s ready. And that will be a big mistake for him and for Belarus. A historic mistake. Because they’re not going to occupy us because they’re not as strong as they were, and even then they didn’t manage to do it. So now for them it will be a huge challenge to occupy Kyiv. And as I said before, this is a big mistake. Because Belarus, people from Belarus, soldiers from Belarus will be involved in this war,” he said.

At the same time, the president expressed hope that Belarus would not join the dictator.

“For them, it means losing history, it means losing Belarus. I think this is a mistake. So I hope that Belarus will not join Putin and will not agree to these steps,” Zelensky said.
