Prim news – Viber is introducing a new feature to reduce the app’s storage space

A Rakuten Viber, the global leader in messaging and voice communication, has announced its new storage management feature that allows Viber users to conveniently check and free up storage space when needed. Users with limited free space will be able to use Viber more efficiently.

As the size of messages has increased significantly thanks to videos, AR lenses, images and other forms of interactive communication, older versions of mobile devices have been challenged to handle the data. THE statcounter GlobalStats according to its data, about 40% of mobile and tablet Android users use version 11.0 or earlier, so a significant number of people are affected by the problem of low storage space.

Viber’s new storage management feature allows users to clear the cache from the entire Viber app or choose which chats to reserve space for. With the help of storage management, users can see how much space Viber takes up on their device; how much is their total storage space; how much free space they have left; and how much space each chat uses.

Users can individually select and delete unnecessary files in each chat. This deletes all media content, such as videos, images, or files, from the chat for the user performing the action, while the media files of other participants in the chat are not affected. If users have already downloaded the files received on the app, they will remain securely stored on the user’s device.

“We’re excited to announce our new storage management feature, which will make the Viber app even more accessible around the world. We want all our users to be able to send as many messages to their family and friends as they want without having to own the latest high-tech devices “ said Ofir Eyal, CEO of Rakuten Viber. “We believe this feature will change the lives of our users and give them a great experience freeing up space on their devices.”
