Cáritas carries out a Reflective Space “Accompaniment to Families”

On Friday, January 20, the Children and Families Program offered a reflective space on accompanying families.

70 people belonging to different parish Caritas, projects of the Program for Minors and Families and technical personnel of our diocesan have participated in it.

In the space, the document “Strategic axes in the processes of accompaniment in childhood, adolescence and their families” has been presented, by Carmen García, a reference of the Program for Childhood, Adolescence and Family of Cáritas Española.

The document delves into the reflection on the accompaniment through five strategic axes. This shows us how to accompany in terms of human rights, with the active, live and real participation of the protagonists, in a community space, in an integral way and from the experiential, starting with ourselves and always with conscious spaces for self-care and team care.

Once the break was over, group work was carried out on the community and the importance of our accompaniments working from this area. The groups shared the following reflections: “Diversity unites us”; “Common interests give meaning to the community”; “The community enriches me and enriches us”;” The importance of communication, listening, leadership and processes”; “If we do not take into account all areas of the person (including the community), we do not see the person or the interior of it”; “We must be more of a welcoming Church” and “Working in community is working together for the transformation of people and our environment”.

This space at the starting point to continue deepening, advancing and improving our way of being, of being and accompanying.

Share the document with us, hoping it will be useful, motivating and inspiring for each one of you and your teams. It is dedicated to all people who firmly and resolutely believe in breaking the intergenerational transmission of poverty, in looking at ourselves and continually reviewing ourselves to continue improving, contributing to a fairer world in which equal opportunities are no longer a goal and become a reality.
