Dejan Lovren, defender of the Croatian national team, announces his retirement from international football, after 78 matches with the national team.
Diane Lovren, defender of the Croatian national football team and French Olympique Lyonnais player, announced today, Thursday, his retirement from international football.
“The day came when I had to say goodbye to the Croatian national team,” Lovren said in a letter published by the Croatian Football Association.
Lovren, 33, played 78 matches for his country, including the 2018 World Cup, in which Croatia finished second, and the 2022 World Cup, in which it finished third.
Lovren stressed that he will never forget these achievements, and thanks everyone who surrounded him in the national team, especially his teammates.
