websites.

– This applies to water that is to be drunk, but also water that is used, for example, in coffee makers, in all cooking that is not boiled, to make ice cubes with or to brush teeth with, writes the municipality.

All those affected have been notified by SMS, and hotels and institutions in the area have been contacted directly.

According to the municipality, around 10,000 households are affected by the cooking recommendation. In addition, industry and institutions within the area are also affected, including the hotels in Holmenkollen.

– The reason for the boil recommendation is the discovery of intestinal enterococci in the drinking water in the area. This can make people ill, and for safety’s sake we are therefore asking everyone who is within the area to boil the water, writes the municipality.

The municipality currently does not know why the water has been contaminated, but is carrying out investigations. They write that they will come with a new update on Sunday afternoon.
