Latvian open source software company SIA “Zabbix” has become the first Latvian company to start cooperation with HackerOne – the world’s most popular honest hacker platform, to discover potential security vulnerabilities in a product. Currently, the Zabbix security bug reporting program is publicly available on the HackerOne platform, where it is possible to receive a financial reward for each submitted and resolved vulnerability.
Zabbix is an open source software designed to monitor and track the performance and availability of IT infrastructure resources. The software is widely used all over the world and in Latvia in various sectors – finance and banking, retail, education, state and local governments, as well as for monitoring the IT infrastructure of organizations.
In English, HackerOne calls the bug reporting program a “bug bounty” or bug search and reward program. It invites honest hackers to look for bugs in the Zabbix software. On this platform, a reported and evaluated bug can be rewarded up to $3,000. More information about the program can be found here: https://hackerone.com/zabbix
“We are proud that the high quality and security of the Zabbix product has always been our highest priority. Cooperation with HackerOne is our next step to involve wider security leaders and honest hacker community in order to respond to potential security issues more proactively,” says Aleksejs Vladishevs, founder and board member of Zabbix Ltd., about cooperation with HackerOne.
