‘We woke up to war’
On the morning of February 24, 2022, many Ukrainians woke up to powerful explosions rocking the capital, Kyiv, as Russia launched a large-scale military incursion, representing the largest state-on-state attack since World War II. Russia targeted civilian buildings with no casualties. Ukraine immediately declared martial law.
