Chelsea would have sent an XXL offer to Zinedine Zidane for the succession of Graham Potter. The Frenchman is said to be ready to land next summer.
On Tuesday, the English press revealed discussions between Chelsea and Zinedine Zidane, with a view to his possible arrival on the London bench. The Blues are looking for a solution to revive their team, which is struggling despite the large investments made during the last two transfer windows. The Londoners have spent no less than 600 million euros to strengthen their squad. However, the results so far are not up to par. Graham Potter’s team points to the 10e position in the Premier League table, 11 points from 4e place synonymous with qualification for the Champions League.
Zidane ready to come next summer?
The Spanish media go a little further this Wednesday. PlanetaRealMadrid claims that the Blues offered the French coach a salary of 15 million euros a year, to convince him to come. The decision makers of the English club would see in him the right man to improve the investments made. Zinedine Zidane is also one of the most successful coaches of recent years, notably with three consecutive Champions Leagues with Real Madrid. His name has also been mentioned in several formations in recent weeks, including PSG, Juventus Turin or Real Madrid. Florentino Perez would have thought of him in particular to succeed Carlo Ancelotti, if the results did not improve.
TdF claims for his part that Zinedine Zidane is ready to accept the Blues’ proposal. The media reveals, however, that the native of Marseille does not wish to take on a team during the season. The technician would not be ready to arrive until next summer. It therefore remains to be seen whether this solution suits the London decision-makers, or whether they will try to find another coach likely to strengthen their bench in the coming weeks.
