she was bitten by a bat and they didn’t have the antidote

A woman suffered a rather complicated episode in the General Alvear department. She was sleeping in her room when a bat appeared and bit her when she took it out. He was with medical attention but they did not get the antidote in that department. They sent it to him from Mendoza and he was able to solve his discomfort.

The dramatic episode happened two Fridays ago but it transcended these days when the woman was able to get vaccinated with the antidote to treat, precisely, the bat bite.

Estela Orueta recounted the episode she suffered at her home in Ciudad de Alvear. “I was sleeping and between 3 and 4 I felt a little bug that was flying around the room. I have a kitten, a small one, and I was trying to catch that bug. Before I saw him with a big butterfly, “he told in an interview on 104.5, LV23.

“The bug kept making noise and flying inside the tulle. I get up, turn on the light and see that a bat was walking, it was medium. I do everything possible to keep it inside the tulle and to kill it. I wrap it up, take it outside and kill it.”the woman recounted.

And she began to feel bad: “On Saturday I had a bad flu, down. We went to the square with my son. On Sunday, my granddaughter tells me that she was going to make me a bun and When I was doing it, he asked me what had happened to me”. It was there that they noticed a sting in the back area.

“On Monday I go to the general practitioner and he told me it was a bite. He had swollen glands and he spoke with an infectologist”. The patient received the rabies and tetanus vaccine. But they did not have the antidote for such infections.

At first, 48 hours after the episode, they thought she didn’t need it but then they confirmed that they should inject her. That is why the doctors contacted the care centers of Greater Mendoza and made themselves available. “On Friday I went to the hospital and they gave me the antidote. Now I’m fine but in the General Alvear hospital there is no antidote,” he explained.

And finally, he said that “I never realized that he had bitten me”. In addition, she thanked the doctors who assisted her and also the vaccination workers.
