Alaska Daily trailer: Hilary Swank as a journalist on Disney+

US-Star Hilary Swank was last in the headlines because of her late twin pregnancy (the actress is 48 years old). In terms of career, on the other hand, things have not been looking too rosy for Swank for several years: Although she is considered a great talent – especially when it comes to portraying strong, fearless female characters – major successes have been missing for some time. Even more: Almost all of their series and films flop brutally.

Hilary Swank, who each received an Oscar for best actress for “Boys Don’t Cry” and “Million Dollar Baby”, is the personification of the notorious Oscar curse: Because it is not uncommon for the award with the Academy Award for actors the high point of your career, after that it goes downhill rapidly.

But now Swank tries it again, back in the series: “Alaska Daily” is a drama series in which Swank once again stays true to her type of strong, independent woman. Here it is Trailer:

What is the Alaska Daily about?

In the drama, written by Tom McCarthy (“Spotlight”), Swank plays newly disgraced reporter Eileen Fitzgerald, who leaves her spectacular life in New York to work for an Anchorage daily newspaper in search of personal… and to make professional redress.

The inspiration for Alaska Daily is a real-life series of investigative newspaper articles in Anchorage Daily News and ProPublica.

Where and when can “Alaska Daily” be seen?

“Alaska Daily” startet am February 22 on Disney+. One episode will appear once a week.

In the US, the series can be seen on ABC. So far, however, there are only six episodes, it should only continue in March. Is that a good omen? Or will “Alaska Daily” join the ranks of the many Hilary Swank flops?
