More than 50 people are missing and at least two have lost their lives in a landslide in a coal mine in the Chinese province of Inner Mongolia, state media reports.
– So far, the incident has caused two deaths and six people have been injured, while 53 are missing, state broadcaster CCTV writes in social media. Both workers and vehicles are buried after the open pit collapse
Earlier, the Xinhua news agency had stated that three people had been taken out after the accident in the northern province on Wednesday afternoon. Two of them showed no signs of life.
President Xi Jinping has instructed the authorities to do everything in their power to find and rescue the missing.
– They must use all their energy to rescue and treat the wounded, protect life, health and property and safeguard social stability, Xi said, according to CCTV.
