The Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Anaheim Ducks 6:1 at home to end a two-game losing streak and have the fifth best record in the Eastern Conference standings. The Washington Capitals with Martin Fehérváry did not succeed against the Detroit Red Wings, when the Capitals lost 1:3 at home and have not scored a single point in five matches in a row. The New Jersey Devils, even with Tomáš Tatar, were not enough at home against the Montreal Canadiens 2:5.

Slovak back Erik Černák returned to the Tampa Bay Lightning lineup after two games and immediately showed that he is at his best when he scored 4 points in the home game against the Anaheim Ducks, which was the most of the entire Lightning team. His absence in the previous matches was due to injury, so he showed that he is already 100% fit. On the ice, he appeared in the second defensive pair together with Mikhail Sergačev and together played 18:12 minutes, of which 7 seconds were in the power play and 2:36 minutes he spent playing in a weak position. During that time, he managed to threaten the goalkeeper of the “ducks” unsuccessfully once and ended the duel with one “minus” in the +/- points statistics.

The second Slovak defender in the prifiliga was also in action Martin Fehérváry, who, like his Slovak native, gave away 4 points in the match between the Washington Capitals and the Detroit Red Wings, but also added 2 blocked shots. He himself shot at the goalkeeper three times – in this respect he was among the most active in the team. However, he did not improve his points balance. He also jumped onto the ice in the second defensive pair together with Nick Jensen. He was in action for 19:18 minutes, of which 1:27 minutes were in the weakened state. He also ended the duel with one “minus” in the +/- points balance.

Not even the last Slovak in the action – the attacker – made it to the list of scorers Tomas Tatar. In the home meeting of the New Jersey Devils against the Montreal Canadiens, he only had two unsuccessful shots on goal. Just like the other two Slovaks who were in action on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, he also ended the duel with one “minus” in the +/- points statistics. He appeared on the ice in the first offense alongside team captain Nic Hischier and Dawson Mercer, playing 14:18 minutes, of which 1:01 were on power plays. For Tomáš Tatar, it was the second match in a row in which he did not win points.

Slovak striker Juraj Slafkovský he continues to be absent from the Montreal Canadiens lineup. On January 16, the draft unit did not play a duel on the ice of the New York Rangers. Subsequent medical examinations revealed that the injury in the lower part of the body will not require surgery, but he will be out of action for 3 months. Today’s duel on the ice of the New Jersey Devils was the thirteenth in a row that he missed.
