The health insurers and especially the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport have to contribute hundreds of millions of euros to pay for the wage increase demanded by the unions. The hospitals are already dealing with high inflation, investments for the Green Deal and higher energy and purchasing costs. ‘If they do not contribute, Minister Kuipers and the health insurers will put a bomb under the IZA and the Green Deal,’ says NVZ chairman Ad Melkert. This can be prevented with help. We no longer have money for all these expenses.’
