Bing is “stupid” again, Microsoft has significantly reduced its AI capabilities

Artificial intelligence is a very complex problem. Several companies have already burned down on it, which also applies to Microsoft. He is now trying it again in cooperation with OpenAI and the ChatGPT system is starting a literal revolution. A new chatbot in the Bing search engine is also built on its basis, which is supposed to help with answering search questions. After only a few days, however, Microsoft limited the capabilities of this system to a large extent. People tried to ask sensitive questions, after which, for example, he started confessing his love to them, urging them to leave his wife, and the like. Now, after the intervention of Microsoft, to inappropriate questions he answers that he would rather not continue the conversation, or he says that he is not here to talk about himself, but to help the given user with the search (which is true, that is his primary purpose) . People have extracted from it, for example, the fact that it is called Sydney (probably the code name of the project).

To prevent people from having long conversations that could confuse the chatbot and, as has happened several times in the past, turn it into something inappropriate (remember how in 2016 it managed to turn the chatbot Tay into a racist in no time), Microsoft limited number of replies to 5 within one conversation. The chatbot will then prompt you to change the subject. During the whole day, the user can exchange 50 messages. Statistics show that only 1% of conversations contained over 50 messages and 90% of them fit into 15 messages.

While on the one hand Microsoft’s move is understandable, the chatbot in AI is supposed to help with searches, not to chat, these interventions show how AI is still immature for such a general conversation. Nevertheless, it is already extremely capable, for example, of making huge wrinkles on the forehead of many professions (one can mention, for example, education, where today students already use ChatGPT to generate papers that they should write themselves).
