Pieces of Blitar Explosion Victims Examined by LabFor

Pieces of victims of the explosion in Tegalrejo Hamlet, Karangbendo Village, Ponggok District, Blitar RegencyEast Java, separated into 20 parts.

This was revealed by the Head of Labfor Polda East Java Kombes Sodiq Pratomo. He said the 20 pieces consisted of bones, flesh and other organs.

“We brought 20 pieces of human bodies. There were bones, meat, hair, and others,” said Sodiq, in Surabaya, Tuesday (21/2).

The 20 body parts were then examined and investigated by his side, assisted by the East Java Police Biddokes Team and a local hospital.

“Then, the DNA team assisted the DVI Biddokkes Team for the East Java Regional Police which was supported by the Bhayangkara Kediri Hospital and Srengat Hospital,” he said.

The body parts were then matched with blood samples belonging to the victim’s family and as a result, three of the bodies could be identified.

“In addition to the two blood from the victim’s family to determine who the other victim is. Because of them 4 died at the TKP, 3 have been identified, only 1 has not been identified,” he said.

Meanwhile, for one body that has not been identified, said Sodiq, his party still needs time to carry out DNA matching.

“For further processing, related to DNA, because the number of BB (Evidence) is quite a lot, and a lot of bones. We may need more time,” said Sodiq.

Previously it was reported that a large explosion allegedly caused by firecrackers occurred in Tegalrejo Hamlet, Karangbendo Village, Ponggok District, Blitar Regency, at 22.30 WIB, Sunday (19/2) evening.

Four people were declared dead. They are Darman (65), Arifin (30), Deni Widodo (26) and Betrisa Neswa Roszi (16). While about 23 other people were injured.

As a result of the explosion, at least 26 houses located within a radius of 100-150 meters from the center of the explosion were damaged. Covers severe damage, moderate to light.
