We already knew the dark triad, which corresponds in psychology to the group of three most toxic and dangerous personality traitsbut have you ever heard of the light triad ? Conversely, this one brings together the three most positive and admirable personality traits, as reported in a recent article published in the journal Psychology of Leaders and Leadership and relayed by Marie Claire. According to scientists, the one also called the clear triad would reunite “the three attributes of high quality social relationships are ethical spirit, benevolence and compassion”. Thus, people who possess this trio of qualities would have the ability to “transforming the world of work in a positive and sustainable way”as the researchers point out.
This would be particularly beneficial, especially in the world of work, since it would make it possible to establish “a whole new model of leadership, which is interested in what is good rather than what is bad”.
But what does it mean to be ethical, compassionate and caring?
According to the authors of this research, being ethical consists “not to lie, cheat, steal or harm others”while benevolence comes down to “show more empathy” and to “become more loving”, both to oneself and to others. Concerning compassion, it is a question of succeeding in “understanding the fate of others, but also being ready to help them”.
This new, more positive approach “can help you become a beacon in the night for those you love”, indicates the article. As a way to prove that positivity can triumph over toxicity, and that one can succeed in life and climb the social and professional ladder without resorting to manipulation, selfishness or even narcissism.
