Kozhikode ∙ POCSO case accused hanged himself at Atijeetha’s house. The incident took place in Kozhikode. The accused, who is also a retired police officer, came to the house of Atijeetha and hanged himself. KP Unni (57) died in Putekad peace net. The police reached the spot and conducted an investigation. The steps including moving the body are in progress.
Unni, a retired SI, was arrested by the police in 2021 for sexually assaulting an eight-year-old girl. The case was that the child was kidnapped and tortured. He was granted bail in this case.
While the legal proceedings related to the case were in progress, the accused former police officer was found hanging dead in the house of Atijeetha.
