Ray tracing in the PC version of Atomic Heart will appear only after the release

The PC version of Atomic Heart will be stripped of one graphical feature at launch, namely ray tracing. This will seem strange to many, because since the announcement, the game from Mundfish has been used almost as a manifesto for this technology, hired by Nvidia itself to demonstrate the capabilities of its RTX cards.

How can we forget a technology demo in 2019 or a ray tracing trailer a few weeks ago?

Confirmation of the lack of ray tracing at launch was the appeal of the development team itself to Rock, Paper, Shotgun, who were told that it would be implemented after launch.

It came as a surprise. Game director Robert Bagratuni has announced that the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions will not have ray tracing at launch, but nothing has been said about the PC version. Of course, it’s better to have it late than not to have it at all, but the fact that Nvidia’s ray tracing-enabled tech demo has been around for four years now makes it odd that the final game would be released without prior support for the technology.
