It is not necessary to spend a fortune to be able to accompany dinner with a good wine. Italian wines are certainly among the best in the world but often cost too much. There are low-cost lines which, however, are decidedly pleasant. Here are which ones to prefer.
Italy is the country with the largest wine production in the world, virtually every region has its own wine. Heavy to date we have 341 Italian wines DOC (of controlled origin) e 78 come DOCG (of guaranteed controlled origin). There are 2 regions with the greatest production of wine in ITALY: Piedmont and Tuscany, immediately followed by Veneto, Puglia and Lazio.
Italian wines: which are the best
This immense production of Italian wines is subjected to a rigorous classification, in fact in addition to the acronyms DOC E DOCG the classification of wines also depends on the limited area of production for this reason there are legislations which provide for the reserve acronym for the more aged ones, classic for the non-sparkling ones and superior for those with an alcoholic strength higher than 1%.
Today we owe Tuscany the prestige we have red wines famous all over the world, much in demand on the market, in fact they are a real must for true connoisseurs and not. Among the wines Tuscans most desired we find the Brunello di Montalcino a flagship of the region, which has a price that varies between 30-40 euro.
But for bottles of particular vintages considered among the best, the price can easily exceed even 100 eurobut if we want to enjoy a good wine Toscano without spending a fortune we can opt for a Chiantiwhich has a cost that varies between 8 euros for a Chianti Classico up to 18 euros for a Riserva.
Wine is not only drunk by aspiring oenologists or connoisseurs who know how to recognize and appreciate fruity, woody notes or intoxicating scents. A glass of wine can be a pleasure even for the less experienced palate.
Light-heartedness and disengagement therefore, appreciated by all: experts and non-experts. You don’t necessarily have to look for the right combination with the food you choose, indeed most of them look for it a wine that goes well with everything, any type of dish, main courses and aperitifs. Especially that it’s wallet-friendly.
We can go and buy it in the wine shop, at the supermarket, we can find it online, but why do we often boycott the supermarket when it comes to buying wine? Or even more if we have to give it away? There are excellent wines that can be found on the shelves, just do a little investigation.
Good but cheap local wines: which ones to choose
We can safely bet on a Red of Montepulciano with a price ranging between 8 euros and 12 euros. Its main production region is Abruzzo, it is a dry red wine with an intense color. Then we can always choose a Morellino di Scansano DOCG, Tuscan red wine with a ruby red colour. With its intense aroma it goes well with soups and grilled red meats, its price varies between 9-10 euros per bottle.
Another good Italian wine comes from Marche vine. In the province of Ancona the Lacrima di Morro d’Alba is grown and goes very well with cured meats and white meat dishes. His price varies between 7 and up to 12 euros.
Let’s move to Romagna with Albana di Romagna, a wine that if drunk with eyes closed is mistaken for a good red, with a powerful aroma and structure, and capable of satisfying every palate, we can buy it at 7 euro.
Now let’s talk about a wine that goes perfectly with grilled fish or fried fish but does not disdain white meats, we are talking about Beneventan phalanx di a beautiful golden color and aromatic, the price starts from 4.90 you have 7 euros.
We close with Sicily. The Nero d’Avola a balanced wine with a fruity flavor that goes perfectly with aged and roasted cheeses, but if it is not aged it is also ideal with fish, cost 9-10 euros.
