Foix: a City Council “without the presence of the public” on the evening of February 21

Town hall of Foix. April 2020.

On February 9, while the Fuxean councilors had to study a provided agenda – with, among other things, the administrative accounts, the initial budget and the tax rate -, the meeting of the municipal council was cut short after the intervention of a group of people opposed to the Fuxean CCTV project. “Failure to return to calm”Mayor Norbert Meler had to close the meeting very quickly.

A new meeting has been called for this Tuesday, February 21 at 6 p.m. “In order to allow municipal councilors to deliberate in serenity, it will take place without the presence of the public, in accordance with the provisions of the internal regulations, says Mr. Meler in a press release. A video and audio broadcast will be carried out live (link published on the town hall’s website the same day). The mayor told us to refer to article 8 of the rules of procedure which states that “a direct video broadcast may be set up if it is impossible to accommodate the public”.

The agenda for the February 21 meeting can be downloaded here.
