Adeyemi’s injury keeps him out for 3 weeks

Borussia Dortmund striker Karim Adeyemi will be out of action for “nearly three weeks” after suffering a muscle injury in the thigh, his club announced.

Adeyemi was injured while making a decisive pass, including his Dutch colleague Doniel Mallen, who scored the fourth goal for Dortmund against Hertha Berlin, to emerge victorious 4-1 in the German League on Sunday.

Dortmund said on his Twitter account: “Karim Adeyemi suffers from a muscle tear that he sustained during the match against Hertha Berlin and will be absent for about three weeks.”

Adeyemi, who scored one of his team’s four goals against Hertha Berlin, is shining in the ranks of his team, which is equal in the lead with Bayern Munich, and is superior to the latter by goal difference only.

Adeyemi scored 3 goals and made an assist in his last 3 matches with Dortmund, including the only winning goal against Chelsea in the first leg of the Champions League final, after a great individual effort last week.

The German international, who is coming to Dortmund at the beginning of the current season from Red Bull Salzburg, will miss his team’s matches against Hoffenheim and Leipzig. He is also expected to miss the return leg against Chelsea next month and Schalke 04 in the league.
