The Brazilian will most likely be absent from Paris Saint-Germain’s lineup in the Champions League round of 16 rematch against Bayern Munich, which is scheduled for March 8.
According to the Paris club, an examination revealed a sprain of the right ankle. Further examinations will determine whether the ligaments were also damaged, which will determine the exact length of recovery.

Neymar is repeatedly troubled by problems with his ankle. He was also injured at last year’s WC in Qatar in the opening match against Serbia (2:0). Subsequently, he returned to the “canaries” lineup only in the round of 16 meeting with the Republic of Korea (4:1).
The 31-year-old Brazilian suffered an injury during Sunday’s victory of the Parisians over LOSC Lille (4:3).
He was involved in both goals in the first half, scoring one himself and assisting the second to the league’s top scorer, Kylian Mbappé, who sent a message to Neymar via social media: “Stay strong. The team is waiting for you.”

Mbappé’s words after the 0:1 loss to Bayern resonated in the media. He urged his teammates to eat and sleep well.
This statement was immediately interpreted as an allusion to Neymar’s behavior off the field. On Wednesday night, the day after the match in Munich, the Brazilian headed to a poker tournament and to fast food.
“I never attacked anyone or pointed at Neymar when I mentioned the need to eat and sleep well,” emphasized Mbappé for Canal+.
