A man from Santa Rosa, identified as Juan José Portalez, drowned in the Reta spa -Tres Arroyos district, Buenos Aires province- during an incident that occurred this Sunday afternoon.
Until last night there was a rigorous silence around the identity of the victim. But this Monday morning The newspaper could learn from police sources that it is Juan José Portalez, 45 years old.
Portalez was one of the owners of the renowned local cold cuts and dairy distributor, “Refrigerados Santiago”. At first it emerged that the victim was a lawyer, but that information was wrong.
The body of the pampean was found at 5:30 p.m. this Sunday by tourists who were walking along the coast of Reta. Some tried to give him first aid, but to no avail. The maneuvers of the lifeguards were not able to revive him either, nor was it possible to change the situation with the intervention of the health team.
“Apparently, he suffered a heart attack in the water… he had heart problems”said a source consulted by this newspaper-
The event occurred near the lagoon, outside the bathing area, which ends just under 2,000 meters from the site.
Portales had arrived with his girlfriend to that seaside resort to spend the carnival weekend. It was precisely his partner who she had alerted two hours before the appearance of the body about the disappearance of her boyfriend, who had gone into the sea to swim -in an area that was dangerous- and had not seen him again.
