The United States made a mistake in the fight against Russia and faced its dangerous allies, according to a material on the Chinese Internet platform Sohu, reports Pravda.Ru.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the US went to great lengths to build on its success and show the world that the United States is the main and only dominant power. However, this arrangement could not last long. Gradually, Russia got stronger and began to actively defend its interests. At the same time, China began to increase its influence in the global economy, thereby challenging the United States. Iran actively began to oppose US hegemony. However, for the time being, Washington was not particularly concerned about the activity of its opponents, since the United States adhered to a plan that allowed them to deal with each of the rivals one by one.
“The United States was pursuing a divide and rule strategy. That is, first make friends with China, then use NATO to get rid of Russia, then use Israel to get rid of Iran, and finally encircle China and attack it. This strategy is really smart.” – says the material published on the Sohu Internet platform.
However, absolute power has overshadowed the prudence of American politicians, Chinese experts believe. After relations with Russia began to deteriorate, Washington felt that the Russian Federation was too weak. And therefore, American power should be enough to simultaneously crush not only Russia, but also China and Iran.
“Because of their self-confidence, the United States has made many dangerous mistakes. Not only is there no longer a way to achieve the goal of “divide and rule”, but now Russia, along with China and Iran, are uniting in an unspoken anti-American alliance. And the more the US puts pressure on them, the stronger the cooperation becomes.” — emphasized in the material.
As reported EADailythe Chinese Foreign Ministry said that Beijing does not intend to succumb to pressure from Washington in matters of relations with Moscow.
“We do not accept US accusations in Russia-China relations, not to mention coercion and pressure,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said Wang Wenbin.
He noted that China’s approach is not aimed at confrontation with any “third parties”, and cooperation between Moscow and Beijing “is within the sovereignty of two independent countries.”
