Sport, FKH | Here is FKH’s new striker

SOCCER: On Monday morning, FKH sports director Eirik Opedal was a guest on Haugesund’s Avis podcast “Frelst”.

On the “direct” he came back with news.

– When I’m done here, I’m going to sign a striker, Opedal said.

Not many hours later, the confirmation also came:

Sory Ibrahim Diarra (22) from Mali is ready for FKH.

Know where the goal is

The new forward, who comes from Romanian Petrolul Ploeisti, has signed a contract with FKH until 2026.

FKH himself states this in a Twitter video.

Diarra scored eleven goals in 15 league games in the Romanian 2nd Division last season, according to the website Transfer market.

In addition, there were four goals in six games in the playoff, which ended with Petrolul Ploeisti moving up.

Here you can see him in action:

Haven’t played since last May

For FKHs websites says Diarra that he scores goals in every way.

– I hope to do that for FKH as well, as soon as I have settled in properly in the city and in the team, says Diarra.

As for why he hasn’t played any games for Petrolul Ploiesti since May last year, FKH explains it with “discrepancies regarding the contract”.

– It is a long process which is now reaching the goal of Sory finally being in place in Haugesund. He is a player we have wanted for a long time, and is a player with solid physique, good speed and good finishing skills, says Opedal to his own website.

New competitor in place

Diarra will primarily compete with Alexander Søderlund and Martin Samuelsen for the forward spot in FKH.

Søderlund was also in charge of the training match against Åsane on Friday to avoid overload.

In his absence, Samuelsen did his affairs well.

He both scored, assisted and fixed a penalty, as FKH won 4–1.

But now a new competitor is in place.

Travel to Spain

On Thursday, FKH travel to Spain to sharpen their form for the cup match away to Brann on 12 March.

There are training matches against Tromsø and Lillestrøm on Saturday and Thursday respectively.

You can watch both matches live on h-avis.no.

Diarra will probably make his debut against Tromsø.
