Speech video pitched hate speech from a member of the Telangana regional legislature in India, T Raja Singh, viral on social media. In his speech at Latur, Singh was called openly calling for acts of violence against Muslims.
The video of Singh’s provocative speech was posted on his Twitter account Hindutva Watch, which is a research initiative organization to monitor reports of attacks on members of religious minorities in India. The video was posted by Hindutva Watch on Monday (20/2) local time.
“Hindu right-wing leader and Telangana legislator T Raja Singh delivered a hate speech and gave explicit calls for violence and killing of Muslims in an event attended by thousands to mark the birthday of King Shivaji Maharaj,” the narration reads. Hindutva Watch in that post.
The video of Singh’s speech has gone viral and has been viewed 42,000 times so far. Hindutva Watch mentioned that the speech was delivered by Singh in Latur, Maharasthtra.
There has been no official response from the Indian Police regarding Singh’s controversial speech in Latur.
However, it is known that such hate speech is not the first time that Singh, who is now suspended from the Party, has delivered it Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which is in power in India.
Three weeks ago, or on January 29, Singh delivered a similar speech at an event called Hindu Janakrosh Morcha in Mumbai. The event, according to local Indian media The Wireheld by a radical Hindu group called Sakal Hindu Samaj.
Singh in his speech at the time, as reported The Indian Express and The News Minutemade several statements insulting Muslims and asked Hindus to boycott Muslim traders.
