8 hours of attempts to extract a child stuck in a deep sewage well, in the village of Kafr Al-Ghab Al-Jadeed in the Egyptian governorate of Damietta, resulted in a sad end.
The 6-year-old, Imad, fell into a sewage drain in the village of Kfour al-Ghab in Damietta, northern Egypt.
Egyptian media reported that a security force moved immediately, accompanied by civil protection and ambulance personnel, after receiving a report of the incident.
The force intensified search operations to retrieve the child in an attempt to save him, and used heavy equipment to dig at the site, in addition to machines to extract water, but Imad died before arriving at the hospital near the site of the accident.
The “Seventh Day” website quoted eyewitnesses as saying that the child fell into a sewage well while he was passing through a road inside the village.
The security forces wrote a report on the incident, and the Public Prosecution office was summoned to complete the investigation and other legal procedures.
The pictures circulated on social media of the incident brought to mind what happened to the child Rayan in Morocco, who had fallen into a deep well, and his body was exhumed after vigorous attempts that lasted a long time.
