Rehabilitation and operation of 9,000 hotel rooms in the city, which enter the market before the month of Ramadan
Saudi Tourism Minister Ahmed Al-Khatib said that plans have been worked on to raise the capacity to receive pilgrims in Makkah and Madinah.
Al-Khatib added, according to tweets he posted on his Twitter account, that the plan includes rehabilitating and operating 9,000 hotel rooms for the hospitality sector in the city, to enter the market before Ramadan.
“I met businessmen and operators of the hospitality sector in Medina, and we were briefed on the readiness of the city’s hotels to receive visitors and pilgrims during the Ramadan season,” Al-Khatib said.
He pointed out that the ministry prioritizes a balance between raising the quality of the hospitality sector and empowering the private sector through clear legislation and financing solutions.
