Róbert Polievka remains at MFK Dukla Banská Bystrica, transfer is no longer an issue

BANSKA BYSTRICA. The top scorer after twenty rounds of the Slovak Fortuna League will not use the last days of the transfer period to change jerseys.

Striker Róbert Polievka will remain a player of MFK Dukla Banská Bystrica, despite the fact that it is possible that in three weeks he will only play in the group for the rescue.

The club informed about it on the official website.

Weiss wanted him

Bratislava Slovan was already interested in Polievka during the autumn part, and the interest of Dunajská Streda was also mentioned.

Slovan coach Vladimír Weiss Sr. intensified the speculation about his transfer. After Saturday’s match at Tehelno poli (2:2), he said that he still has an eminent interest in Polievka.

He also admitted the continuation of negotiations, although he could no longer include the attacker on the roster for the round of 16 of the European Conference League.

Peter Krnáč, chairman of the board of directors of MFK Dukla Banská Bystrica, responded to these words the day after the match and ruled out the departure of the team leader.

The seventh team of the Fortuna league already lost an injured Michal Fašek a week ago. The competition’s third most productive active player had a kidney injury and is recovering at home.

“We are not negotiating with Slovan Bratislava or any other club, and we will not be in this transfer window. Róbert Polievka will remain a player of MFK Dukla Banská Bystrica during the spring season. That’s how we declared it before the start of the spring season, and that’s how it will stay,” he quotes mfkdukla.sk words of Petr Krnáč.

The player gave his word

Dukla is still in the game for the championship division, with the sixth Žilina having the same number of points. The head-to-head matches are on the Shoshone side.

Polievka is currently in national form, he scored two goals in both spring matches. He himself is aware that he will finish the season in Štiavničky.

“We have resolved this issue with the player, we want to focus on the fight for the top six, which is our goal and which is still realistic two rounds before the end of the regular season.

Therefore, we will not weaken the team by the departure of the best scorer, also considering the fact that we lost Michal Fašek in the match against Trenčín, whose recovery until returning to the league lawns will be longer. We are happy and appreciate the fact that there is interest in our players, but until the summer transfer period we will not make any further interventions outside the club,” added the chairman of the board of MFK Dukla.

In the club, they have been clear about Polievka’s stay for a long time, the player made a boy’s agreement with the club representatives and does not plan to break it.

“A lot has been written and said in the last few hours, but nothing has changed in my position regarding the transfer. Just as I agreed with the owner of MFK Dukla, Mr. Krnáč, before the start of the spring season, that I would finish the season in Banská Bystrica, I will keep it,” Róbert Polievka told the club’s website.

The twenty-six-year-old finisher appreciates the offers, but he will not reflect on them until after the end of the competitive year.

“I am pleased with the interest in my person, I appreciate it, but a transfer to another club is not a matter of the day at the moment. I’m staying in Banská Bystrica, I’m happy here and together with the team we have a common goal, and that is to get into the group that will play for the title and the European cup rungs in the secondary section,” concluded Polievka.

The winter transfer period in Slovakia ends on Tuesday, February 21.
