Experts expect that the elections on April 2 will not repeat those of October 2022.
It is likely that the elections on April 2 will not repeat those of October 2022. A week after “Magnitsky 2” and on the eve of the next election campaign, the sociologist Dobromir Zhivkov and the political scientist Hristo Panchugov are guests in the program “120 minutes”.
“The “Magnitsky” list and the coalition between “We continue the change” and “Democratic Bulgaria” moved the layers a bit. Most analysts expected a repeat of the October 2022 elections. However, they turned out to be slightly different,” said sociologist Dobromir Zhivkov.
According to him, the first political force at the moment – GERB, is going to these elections with a serious image blow, no matter how much it is claimed that this will not affect the party. The coalition between PP and DB has the potential to become the first political force, and the dynamics between the two political forces will still be observed, the sociologist explained.
During the week, two sociological surveys on the attitudes of Bulgarians were published. According to one, GERB has a slight lead, and according to the other, the advantage is for the PP-DB coalition.
“Nothing forces DPS to distance itself from Delyan Peevski – it does not affect the way their voters vote. This does not affect the image of the party either. DPS has a frozen image that divides Bulgarian society into two very definite groups,” explained political scientist Hristo Panchugov.
According to him, the sanctions imposed by the USA and Great Britain are the basis of a larger conversation – about the need for change in Bulgaria. Society is aware of this, but lacks the idea of how to make this happen and who will do it, the political scientist further specified.
