The opening of the 59th Munich Security Conference focuses on the theme of “Reshaping the Vision”- Shangbao Indonesia

German Chancellor Scholz delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.

[China News Agency]The 59th Munich Security Conference opened in Munich, Germany on the 17th local time. The theme of the three-day conference is “Reshaping the Vision”, and some 150 senior government representatives participated in conference-related activities, including more than 40 heads of state and government.

In his opening speech, Chairman of the Muan Security Council Christoph Heusgen introduced his participation in the meeting, and talked about the situation in Ukraine, the maintenance of international order, and the role played by countries in the Global South.

At the opening ceremony, German Chancellor Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron delivered speeches respectively. In his speech, Scholz talked about the situation in Ukraine, Germany’s security responsibility to Europe and NATO, Europe’s reduction of risk dependence, and joint efforts to fight poverty and hunger with some Asian, African and Latin American countries. Macron said in his speech that the West should prepare conditions for peace in Ukraine.

According to the agenda, during the meeting, delegates will also discuss issues such as digital order, food security, green transformation, and international trade.

The Munich Security Conference was founded in 1963. Its predecessor was the “International Defense Conference” focusing on the transatlantic partnership. Today, it has developed into one of the important annual forums in the field of international strategy and security.
