Heavy pictures for PSG against Lille
Crazy turn and Messi decider in stoppage time.
But all was not positive for Paris Saint-Germain in the 4-3 victory against Lille.
Neymar injured his foot and had to be carried out on a stretcher.
It was just after the break that the accident happened to Paris Saint-Germain’s Brazilian superstar.
After a duel in midfield, Neymar landed badly on his right foot.
With his hands over his face, number ten had to leave the field on a stretcher.
– It is probably a sprained ankle, we will assess how serious the injury is. It is being investigated, PSG coach Christophe Galtier told Amazon Prime Video Sport.
The sprain was later confirmed by PSG’s medical team who found no fracture after an initial X-ray. A second examination will be carried out within the next 48 hours, writes the club.
Involved in everything
The injury came after a first half in which Neymar provided a classy assist for Mbappé’s 1-0 – a dream goal in which the striker tunnelled centre-back Tiago Djalo before rolling the ball home.
2–0 then came through Neymar himself after a counterattack.
Crashed – but came back
But after Neymar’s injury came the rage.
Lille picked up the deficit – and made it 3-2 when Jonathan Bamba got free and shot the ball in behind Gianluigi Donnarumma.
But then PSG got up and scored an equalizer before it was time for PSG’s third world star – a certain Lionel Messi – to decide.
The Argentine’s free-kick from just outside the penalty area found its way into the net and secured the three points in stoppage time for the capital side, who now lead the table with eight points.
