Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, Pelosi noted that throughout 2022, US lawmakers have consistently worked to fulfill Ukraine’s requests for military support.
“Now we want to achieve the transfer of the F-16. I fully support this and hope that this will be implemented,” the politician said.
She stressed that the decision has not yet been made, but the transfer of fighters is a paramount task.
Pelosi also spoke in favor of starting training Ukrainian pilots to use the F-16 “already now, because it will take some time.”
Recall that a group of American lawmakers called on US President Joe Biden to start supplying Ukraine with F-16 fighter-bombers.
The United States suggests that they can send their combat aircraft to Ukraine during the prolongation of the war or give permission for the re-export of F-16 fighters that are in service in other countries.
