There is sad news from the district health office about the current number of deaths in connection with Covid-19 in Herten. According to the authority, four new victims were registered this week: an 81-year-old man and three women aged 70, 74 and 102. This means that a total of 205 people have died in our city since the beginning of the pandemic.
The district health office also reported an increase in the number of newly infected people in its weekly balance: A total of 73 were officially confirmed – that was 5 more than in the previous week.
The seven-day incidence rose to 117.9 – an increase of 8.1 points compared to last Friday (02/10). Herten is only in sixth place in the RE district. The value is highest in Gladbeck (184.5) and lowest in Haltern am See (82). The district average is 137.1 (+30.5).
Almost twice as many people in the Covid wards
In the period from February 13th to 17th, 53 Covid 19 patients – almost twice as many as in the previous week (28) – were treated as inpatients in the district hospitals. Of these, 2 to 5 (value fluctuates daily) were in an intensive care unit (previous week: 1 to 2).
