After such a long time, the developers of Diablo 4 have announced that the open beta will take place next month. Pre-order buyers will be able to get acquainted with the game from March 17 to March 19, and players will receive full access to the beta test from March 24 to March 26.
This was revealed during an interview with game director Joe Shelley. Along with this news, the Diablo 4 intro video has become available:
According to Shelley, the beta offers “a broader view of the game” as both the prologue and the first act take place in the Shattered Peaks region. Players will be able to level up to 25 and all main and side quests in this area will be available.
The main character in the cutscene is not one of the classic characters in the game, as it is a custom character created in the game editor before starting the game. Custom characters will be featured in Diablo 4’s cutscenes, with many cutscenes already available in the beta and plenty of other content across the game’s over 30 hours of campaign and side quests.
Diablo 4 is set to release on June 6th and will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and PC. The beta will be available on all of these platforms.
