Tennis Borussia Berlin is the winner of the Future Prize of Berlin Sports 2022. The regional football league was honored as an overall club for its “pioneering role in inclusive sport” and especially for its commitment to amputee football and was given prize money of 7,000 euros, like the Berlin State Sports Association announced on Friday.
The association was honored at a ceremony in the Red City Hall. The Landestanzsportverband Berlin took second place ahead of the Bezirkssportbund Reinickendorf. All in all, “the 20 best ideas and campaigns of the year” were awarded by the Berlin State Sports Association, the LOTTO Foundation Berlin and the Berlin City Cleaning Service (BSR). The prize money totaled 25,000 euros.
“Sports clubs have a deep effect on society. They take on social challenges, develop ideas and implement them straight away. The winning projects at the Future Prize reflect this wonderfully – with their offers in the areas of inclusion, school cooperation, volunteering, sustainability and digitization . So clubs – like the winning club, which is over 120 years old – are fit for the future,” said LSB President Thomas Haertel
