VIVA Lifestyle – An 11-year-old boy has died after suffering from a flesh-eating infection following an injury from a treadmill. Jesse Brown of Winter Park, Florida, died after he contracted the deadly infection, known as Group A Streptococcus bacteria.
Jesse’s cousin, Megan Brown, told the media that she recently injured her foot on the treadmill. A few days later, her mother noticed that her entire leg was covered in purplish, red, almost bruised spots.
He was quickly admitted to the ICU of a local hospital and doctors said the boy had developed a Group A Strep infection which is caused by bacteria Streptococcus Group A.

Despite the doctors’ best efforts, the boy could not be saved. His cousin added that doctors determined the infection was triggered after a treadmill injury.
“They said that because he twisted his ankle that’s most likely where the infection got him. Because he was already weak.” he told Fox 35.
