On the gaming scene, there are series that are almost guaranteed to succeed. However, Hogwarts Legacy shows that even a novice has a chance to break through. All you have to do is come up with an interesting idea and a brand that pulls and you are largely guaranteed success. The game is currently celebrating the most successful start since 2018, when Red Dead Redemption 2 arrived on the scene. In the first weeks of sales, the title managed to overshadow last year’s hit, for example, Elden Ring, thanks to a 56% increase in sales, which was pointed out by editor Christopher Dring from the GamesIndustry server.
We can count on the fact that the support of this title will be longer than for example Elden Ring, for which it will owe primarily to the theme and the universe, which is clearly tempting to buy and play, which is evidenced by 879 thousand concurrent players on Steam. Sales will probably only increase and as a result it is certainly a good thing, let’s hope that in time more works will see the gaming world within AAA titles.
The digital data is in. Hogwarts Legacy’s opening week was 56% bigger across Europe than Elden Ring. It’s the biggest game launch outside of FIFA & Call of Duty since Red Dead Redemption 2.
It backs up the theory that gamers are gravitating towards the big brands at the moment
