Comment from Yohei Takaoka
“This time, I will be permanently transferred to Canada’s Vancouver Whitecaps FC, which belongs to MLS in the United States.
I am very sorry for the inconvenience caused to many people, as the transfer was made just before the start of the season.
I am also very sorry to those who have purchased my uniform for the 2023 season.
During the two years and three months since I came to Yokohama F. Marinos, I have had many wonderful experiences that I cannot express in words.
Of course, there were not only good times, but also bad times, but I think that I was able to overcome and grow together with my best friends.
Right after I joined the team, I had a difficult time because I couldn’t win easily, but with the support of many people, I gradually became able to show my own play.
And being able to feel the trust of everyone little by little in each match was a wonderful experience that cannot be replaced with anything.
The time I practiced with Shige-san, Tetsu-san, and the GK group made me grow.
I believe that all the guidance I received from the two of you has expanded my possibilities many times over. I’m really thankful to you.
The 2022 Home Hiroshima match that made my chant. I got goosebumps during the warm-up and struggled to hold back tears while playing. You have created a wonderful moment for all of us.
I’m really thankful to you.
And in 2022, the J1 league championship that we all won despite suffering was the best scenery that we will never forget for the rest of our lives. When I came to this team, I thought, ‘I want to win the title.’
However, I missed out on many titles during my tenure, which made me keenly aware of my inadequacy. I’m really sorry.
Being able to play for Yokohama F. Marinos, a club that I have longed to go to the stadium many times since I was a boy, was a really happy and wonderful time for me.
It was a special moment when I woke up in the morning and realized that I was a F. Marinos player.
I am truly grateful to have had the opportunity to play for Yokohama F. Marinos, to have had the opportunity to play in my hometown Yokohama again, and to have believed in my potential and welcomed me into the Marinos family. thank you very much.
With determination, I will do my best to make the path I have decided on the right one.
I am still lacking in many things, and I am far from being the person I want to be.
Even in such a situation, I will keep moving forward step by step, and I will put my all into fighting so that one day I can achieve my goals and dreams. And I will do my best to deliver good news as much as possible.
I wish Yokohama F・Marinos further development in the future.
Thank you to everyone who has been involved with me.
I’m really thankful to you”
