The very first match of the ELVI floorball league quarterfinal series between the teams “Ķekava/RB&B” and “Rubene” (Kocēni) confirmed that this pair of teams will bring indescribable emotions to their fans – both positive and not so much. “Ķekava/RB&B”, playing at home, was in the lead 4:1 12 minutes before the end of regular time, but found itself losing 4:5. 16 seconds before the final whistle, Klavs Jansons, the leader of the Kekavian team, restored the tie (5:5), but in the 7th minute of extra time, he intercepted the ball and with an accurate shot ensured his team the victory with 6:5leading 1:0 in the series “Ķekava/RB&B”.

“Ķekava/RB&B”, the 4th place winner of the regular tournament, competes with its closest follower – Kocēnas “Rubeni” in the first round of the playoffs, or in the quarterfinals. The first game of the series took place at the Kekavian square, and it was the hosts who started it more convincingly than the guests. During the first period, Andijs Vilde and Toms Ķeirāns put the Ķekava team in the lead with 2:0, but in the middle of the match, Ķeirāns already reached 3:0. Kočenia scored their first goal in the 36th minute, when Kristers Orlov scored with an accurate shot (1:3). In the 45th minute, Keirans restored the three-goal advantage (4:1). It can be said that in the 49th minute, Kocenians almost woke up, because they scored four goals in a row, taking the lead with 5:4. Matīss Celms, Jēkab Keiš, Dāvis Zēmelis and Kristers Babris stood out with goals. There was a little more than a minute left until the end of regular time, but the guests still failed to neutralize the leader of the home team’s attack, Klavas Jansson. 16 seconds before the end of regular time, Jansons converted Ralf Orste’s pass into a goal (5:5), but in the 7th minute of overtime, he also scored the winning goal – 6:5. “Ķekava/RB&B” started the streak of four wins by one team with a hard-earned success, taking a 1-0 lead.
