INSIDE AND OUTSIDE – After the debut in Japan (Who the news) here is the European version of the renewed Mazda 2. The update comes with it novelty aesthetics to the bodywork and interior, adding two new body colors, a new trim structure and two special editions: Homura and Homura Aka. It does not change the range of engines composed of the 1.5 four-cylinder with mild hybrid system available in the double power step 75 and 90 hp.
WANTS TO STAY YOUNG – The front of the Mazda 2 now stands for one mask with a “checkerboard” texture or, alternatively, can be finished in the same color as the bodywork, and for a new bumper design, now sportier. The design of the rear fascia has also been slightly revised. They enter the color range two new colors: Aero Gray and Air Stream Blue, bringing the available body colors to eleven.
THE FITTINGS – Four are the layouts of the renewed Mazda 2: Center Line, Exclusive Line and the two special versions Homura and Homura AKA. The setups Centre Line, Exclusive Line they are equipped as standard with the multimedia system with 8” display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connection, leather steering wheel trim and LED headlights complete with headlight washers. The setup Centre Line it also differs in the details in the same color as the bodywork, provided for the grille, the rims and the dashboard. Optional the Convenience Pack, which includes parking sensors, blind spot monitoring and the intelligent city braking system, which constantly monitors the speed and other cars on the road, heated seats, light / rain sensors and automatic climate control. There Exclusive Line adds dark glass, 16” alloy wheels, smart key, heated steering wheel and rear camera. The package” Drive Assistance Pack it then adds numerous driver assistance systems, including Adaptive Cruise Control and LED matrix headlights.
COORDINATED COLORS – As for the interior, in the Mazda 2 2023 edition, some details of the passenger compartment are coordinated with the exterior color of the bodywork, combining plain-coloured fabric upholstery, white, black or mint green dashboard inserts and white inner rings of the vents.
TWO SPECIAL VERSIONS – The two special versions Homura and Homura AKA are characterized externally by a black honeycomb grille with red accents, glossy black finishes for the external mirrors, the “shark” type antenna and the lower front and rear wheel arches. The edition Homura Aka combines all the features of the Exclusive Line trim level with a sporty look, thanks to the combination of red and black colours, the black external roof and the specific 16” black alloy wheels with inserts. L’Homura, however, features black finishes in the 16” alloy wheels, in the front grille and in the mirror caps. Internally, the two special versions offer black leather and fabric upholstery, combined with contrasting red stitching and gunmetal and dark red vent surrounds. Leather/fabric upholstery and suede-trimmed center console fascia with red stitching are also available for the Homura Aka.
PRICES – The first deliveries of the Mazda 2 edition 2023 are expected from May with prices starting from 19,000 euros for the 75 HP Center Line up to 23,450 Euros for the Homura Aka combined with the 90 HP engine.
