The PC version of Returnal supports ray tracing, a technology that we know has a big impact on performance and that has gotten more or less of a quality presentation in games over time. In this case, what are the differences between whether to activate it or not? A new video from ElAnalistaDeBits shows us this.
A few hours after the Returnal comparison video on PC and PS5, a Spanish YouTuber wanted to show what exactly happens when using ray tracing in the Housemarque shooter, and indeed, it is impossible not to notice the changes.
Raytraced reflections do “fill in” water mirrors and shiny surfaces that would otherwise be dark or opaque, while shadows are a bit less of an issue, mostly because Returnal is a very dark game overall.
