Qena – Abdul Rahman Al Qurashi:

The city of Qena was covered in black, after a groom was killed inside a wedding hall and his bride was injured, after an electric cable-car resembling a cable car fell on them a few minutes after they tied the knot.

Soon the ululation turned into screaming and wailing, the joy into a funeral, and the happiness into shock, just as the social media pages turned into a condolence book for the groom of the hall, whom many called the groom of heaven.

Eyewitnesses reported to Masrawy that the newlyweds entered the hall and rode the moving kosha that moves above the audience from the middle of the hall, and during the ululation and the Saidi wedding, the kosha fell, amid the cries of the mourners.

The groom, engineer Mohamed Hosni, breathed his last immediately before the ambulance arrived, and his bride sustained injuries and bruises.

And the friends of the deceased groom mentioned: “He was a role model for everyone around him, keeping prayers in the mosque, as he was diligent in his studies until he joined the College of Engineering, and he was a volunteer in many charitable initiatives, and his horrific death struck everyone with sadness and shock.”

Hundreds of Qena residents shared the body of the deceased groom from the morgue of Qena General Hospital to his final resting place in the cemetery east of the railway in Qena, at one o’clock after midnight, amid a state of collapse for his family and siblings, mourning his separation on his wedding night while he was in a suit of joy, with a majestic scene that bled the hearts of the people of Qena.

On the other hand, the security services summoned the owners and employees of the wedding hall to interrogate them and listen to their statements. They also seized the hall’s surveillance cameras to clear them and determine that the incident was free of any criminal motives.

Major General Ehab Taha, Assistant Minister of Interior, Director of Qena Security, received a notification from the Qena Ambulance Facility headed by Dr. Hassan Ibrahim, the director of the facility, stating that a report had been received about the death of a groom and the injury of his wife inside the wedding hall in Basin 10 in Qena, and two ambulances were immediately sent to the accident site.

By moving and examining, it was found that Muhammad Hosni was killed in his twenties, and his wife was injured, after the kosha fell with them after they entered the joy hall in Basin 10 in Qena, and they were transferred to Qena General Hospital at the disposal of the competent authorities.

A report of the incident was issued and the Public Prosecution office was notified to initiate investigations.
