Faurecia up sharply after a proposed sale of exhaust gas after-treatment activities

(AOF) – Faurecia signs one of the strongest increases in the SBF10 this morning (+6.06% to 20.23 euros) after announcing that it has just started exclusive negotiations with the American engine manufacturer Cummins concerning the sale potential of part of the exhaust gas after-treatment business for commercial vehicles in Europe and the United States for an enterprise value of 150 million euros.

This project would include two production plants respectively located in Roermond in the Netherlands and in Columbus, Indiana in the United States. Their integration with Cummins would not fail to ensure their long-term activity to provide after-treatment solutions for the thermal engines of commercial vehicles.

A trusted Faurecia partner since 2010, Cummins produces engines for on-road trucks and construction machinery as well as essential engine components, including exhaust after-treatment systems.

Faurecia’s “Clean Mobility” activities in the field of exhaust and after-treatment for commercial vehicles, mainly in China and India, will continue.

This potential transaction corresponds to Faurecia’s strategy of focusing on its activities related to ultra-low emissions for light vehicles in which it excels, while accelerating its Hydrogen roadmap, a key element of zero-emission mobility.
