Deputy Enforcement KPK Karyoto and KPK Investigation Director Endar Priantoro have been recommended by the chairman KPK Firli Bahuri to return to the National Police. The KPK said the two officials were still working at the anti-corruption agency at this time.
“Mr. Karyoto and Mr. Endar are still holding their positions as Deputy and Director. Today there is also an exposure of activities followed by him because they are still in office,” said Head of KPK Reporting Unit Ali Fikri at the KPK building, Jalan Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday (16/2/ 2023).
A recommendation letter from Firli for Endar and Karyoto to return to the National Police has been sent by the KPK since November 2022. Ali emphasized that the recommendation was related to the promotion of the two active Polri generals at their home institution.
“There is a letter as part of a promotion, the KPK management section to promote civil servants who are employed including police who have been over 2 years. (Endar) 2.5 years and Mr Deputy 2 years 9 months almost 3 years so it is proposed to be promoted, ” said Ali.
Ali said that Endar, who holds the rank of Brigadier General, and Karyoto, who holds the rank of Inspector General, will be determined by the National Police. The KPK is still waiting for the National Police’s response regarding Firli’s recommendation letter.
“But it’s back to the agency of origin who will consider it,” explained Ali.
KPK Dewas Will Not Intervene Firli’s Recommendation Letter to Endar-Karyoto
A letter of recommendation from KPK chairman Firli Bahuri so that Deputy for Enforcement Karyoto and Director of Investigation Endar Priantoro return to the National Police is in the spotlight. The KPK Supervisory Board (Dewas) admitted that they were reluctant to intervene in Firli’s letter.
“The KPK Board of Trustees do not have the authority to intervene or interfere in this matter,” said Chairman of the KPK Board of Trustees, Tumpak Panggabean, in a statement to journalists, Thursday (16/2/2023).
The recommendation letter from Firli to Karyoto and Endar has been submitted to the National Police since November 2022. KPK said the recommendation was in the framework of a promotion to Karyoto and Endar.
According to Tumpak, a letter of recommendation from Firli on the basis of a promotion is common in organizational dynamics.
“Promotions and transfers are part of HR management and are something that is commonly done in an organization,” explained Tumpak.
