The body of Marina Yankina, head of the finance department of the Western regions of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, has been found in St. Petersburg, TheSun.com media reports.
Another high-ranking Russian defense official died mysteriously after falling out of a high-rise window. Local residents found the body and reported it to the police.
Police later found documents and personal belongings believed to belong to Yankin on a balcony at the building’s entrance. Investigators are currently working to determine the circumstances of the woman’s death.
Yankina previously worked at the Federal Tax Service and was deputy chairman of the Property Committee of St. Petersburg.
Yankina, who has now died under mysterious circumstances, was already rammed by a car last month while crossing the street after meeting Magomed Abdulayev, the former prime minister of the oil-rich Russian region. A woman was hit by a car in the Caspian Sea city of Makhachkala.
