The line of this Government on vaccines is that of PAHO and WHO, clarifies Rodrigo Chaves

San José, Feb 15 (elmundo.cr) – The President of the Republic, Rodrigo Chaves, clarified that on the issue of vaccines the Government has followed the line of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the World Health Organization. Health (WHO).

Chaves pointed out that “Ms. Joselyn (Chacón) and the Government in general have closely followed the position of the PAHO and the WHO, the debate within Costa Rica has been limited solely to the mandatory nature of the mask and the mandatory nature of the vaccine against Covid-19, in the rest there has been no debate on public health policies.

“The Government of the Republic has never had a debate with the PAHO and the WHO, what we have said is that Costa Rica is an exception with a handful of other countries in forcing children and adults to be vaccinated against their will,” held.

The president insisted that “PAHO and WHO, which do have very high-flying scientists, have a different opinion than the National Vaccination Commission.”

“In the case of international organizations, it is that the vaccine is available to those who want to do so, get vaccinated but that people do not tie themselves up, do not take their jobs, do not fire those who do not want to be vaccinated, that is what says PAHO and WHO,” he added.

For Chaves “the anger, the noise, the scandal is from a group that is fundamentally the National Vaccination Commission, which is fundamentally a lag of the previous government.”

“Insisting that if you don’t get vaccinated, even if you don’t want to, you have to take your job, you have to throw you out of the Government and we don’t want to do that,” he concluded.
