Rick Karsdorp explaining his happiness back to AS Roma. He also reflected on the rumors surrounding his altercation with the coach Jose Mourinho.
The 28-year-old Dutch right-back has been accused of being unprofessional by Mourinho. The coach then asked Karsdorp to leave the club after a 1-1 draw with Sassuolo on 9 November 2022.
Karsdorp almost really picked up the suitcase in the January transfer market. Since failing to leave, Karsdorp repaired relations with Mourinho, which saw him reintegrated into the squad.
“In the last two weeks I had problems with my knee, it was swollen and I had pain. But now I feel good, especially from a physical point of view. I have been training a lot on an individual level. I am happy to be back,” said Karsdorp as quoted by Football. Italy.
“This is my sixth year here and I love playing for this club. The thing I want to say about the issues between me and the coach is that people like FIFPro and my lawyers don’t speak on my behalf. People say things which is not true,” he continued.
“I just want to play for this club and, as I said before, I’m happy to be back. It’s always nice to play a game every three or four days. Before, I was used to doing that and, as I said before, I’m happy to be back. “
Karsdorp joined Roma from Feyenoord in July 2017 in a deal worth 16 million euros. Since his arrival in the Italian capital, the Dutchman has scored one goal and provided 13 assists in 122 appearances.
